By downloading, installing, or using the Glia iOS beta application ("App") through Apple's TestFlight program, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

For users under 18: If you are under 18, we encourage you to discuss using this App with your parent or guardian. If you are under 13, your parent or guardian must create your account and agree to these Terms on your behalf.

Glia is an AI-powered learning companion that helps users:

• Organize ideas and knowledge through visual knowledge maps
• Engage with AI-generated learning content and conversations
• Track learning progress and build interdisciplinary knowledge networks

4. User Accounts and Eligibility

4.1 Account Creation

To use the App, you may need to create an account with accurate and complete information.

4.2 Age Requirements

• Users aged 13 or older can create an account and provide their own consent under UK GDPR
• Users under 13 must have their parent or guardian create the account and provide consent on their behalf
• Users aged 13-17 are encouraged to discuss their use of the App with their parents/guardians, though not legally required to obtain permission

4.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

• Our AI systems are designed to provide helpful, safe, and appropriate educational content
• You should verify important information from authoritative sources when making significant decisions

The App, including its design, features, algorithms, and underlying technology, is owned by Glia HQ Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws.

7. Privacy and Data Use

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Key points:

10.2 Limitation of Liability

The following limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law:

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, Glia HQ Ltd's total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We exclude liability for:

• Loss of profits, business, contracts, revenues, or anticipated savings
• Loss or corruption of data or information
• Any special, indirect, consequential, or punitive damages
• Any damages arising from third-party content or services

Important consumer rights notice: If you are a UK consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer protection law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
